Meet the Family
Moukie
Well, here I am finally joining the conversation. I feel like a mom, buzzing around cleaning and getting things done while people are chatting at the kitchen table, engaged in fun conversations. I’m excited to sit down and have a cup of tea now that everything is clean and organized and Moukisac is ready to go.
Moukie is the nickname my motherĀ gave me when I was a baby. It has stuck with me ever since, like a wagging tail on a happy puppy. I like it: it describes my mischievous joyful and creative sides.
Being 10th in a family of 11 children, I inherited my parent’s positive attitude and enthusiasm for creating community spirit and co-operation. I love participating in meaningful projects with like-minded people and celebrating our achievements with a big potluck.
I have a dream that is dear to my heart: I see myself being part of a conscious community, one that makes decisions that support our future generations and recognizes the long term impact of present decisions. I desire to inspire people to rise to the challenge we’ve imposed upon ourselves in our recent reality.
The Moukisac Shopping Bag Company Inc. is my launching pad. I am amazed at the paths it has opened up for me. I feel deeply inspired by the people I’ve met along the way who are as eager as I am to be the change they wish to see in the world. To me, this is conscious living.
If you are wondering what Moukie does when she’s not building businesses: I enjoy breathing fresh morning air as I ride my bike around Stanley Park, I play piano (my lifelong friend) and enroll people into playing bilingual scrabble, my family’s favorite game, with me. I also love to create recipes no one else would ever think of making. People are always saying they love to eat my weird food, so I keep making more!
Annalee

How exciting, my first foray into the blogging world! I’m so glad you’ve stopped by. I’ve been working as the resident marketing fairy for Moukisac since early 2009. That is to say, I get to spend the day fishing for eccentric ideas, and making beautiful things. People often ask me if it’s hard to work for my mom, and I can honestly say the only difficult thing is trying to not spend too much time chatting.
I was born and raised in Vancouver where I spent a glorious childhood mountaineering in the staircase, choreographing elaborate dance routines and generally getting my hands dirty. Now that I’m grown up, my dance routines have turned into flamenco and ballet, I get to hike on real mountains and my art projects keep my hands satisfactorily dirty.
A few more bits and peices: I’m a musician, a Taurus, a little sarcastic, and I live in a little hobbit home on Commercial Drive with my boyfriend.
